In May of each year, NLHA members come together to review the progress of the past year, to celebrate projects and activities, and to elect officers for the coming year. A short program is presented by a local literary researcher or writer.

  • Read to Me Elementary School Program

  • Write Stuff Writing Groups

These writing groups meet monthly and are conducted by a Nebraska writer who provides writing tips and advice. These groups are for adult writers in all stages of development.

  • Writers Write Workshop for Eighth Grade Students

Once a year, fifty eighth grade students from the Lincoln Public Schools meet with Nebraska State Poet Bill Kloefkorn and four well-known Nebraska authors, each successful in their own field of writing. These students, selected by their teachers, participate in a morning of discussion, free-writing, and sharing in small groups with an author. They also share in the large group at the conclusion of the workshop. The event is held in February of each year.
