The event includes Artisan Pizza and hors d’oeuvres and, thanks to the generosity of many individuals and businesses throughout the area, a silent auction featuring many distinct and unique items. Proceeds will be used to purchase enhance technology needs in our libraries and to purchase new electronic books, equipment, and materials. Foundation efforts are designed to enhance and enrich the tax-supported programs and services provided free-of-charge to every citizen.
In today’s world, libraries have become family centers were “Kids of All Ages” congregate to do more than read books, and technology is playing an increasingly important role in this change. Many families spend their leisure time in the libraries. The computer labs are busy with people applying for employment, students completing their homework, and children using programs that help them learn to read at a young age. Thanks to strong community support, Lincoln’s Libraries are able to meet the growing needs of our citizens and community.
